National Nurses Day is celebrated annually on May 6th to honor and appreciate the contributions and hard work of nurses across the United States. It marks the beginning of National Nurses Week, which ends on May 12th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

National Nurses Day is actually a WEEK that begins May 6th and ends on May 12th, which is the birthday of Florence Nightingale (May 12, 1820 – August 13, 1910). Florence Nightingale was a celebrated English, social reformer, statistician, and thefounder of modern nursing. She became well-known while taking care of the wounded soldiers during the Crimean War. Nightingale was dubbed The Lady with the Lamp because of her habit of making rounds at night.

So why would DrTen20 recognize National Nurses Day? National Nurses Day serves as an opportunity to recognize the dedication, compassion, and vital role that nurses play in providing quality healthcare to individuals and communities. It’s a time to acknowledge their tireless efforts in caring for patients, promoting health, and advocating for better healthcare policies.

Especially in recent years, the significance of National Nurses Day has been highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has underscored the critical role that nurses play in responding to public health emergencies and caring for those affected by illness.

In an effort to publically recongize the incredible efforts that Nurses put forth every day,  we are asking everyone to take a minute to thank a nurse for their service and to offer all nurses a $100 off the filler of their choice from May 6th throught May 12th.  Just call 1.949.489.1317 to schedule a free appointment and mention this post to receive your credit!
